House of Restoration

House of Restoration (HR) is an independent, non-profit organization working with people in need across the city of Melbourne. HR is a registered charity providing assistance to the disadvantaged, homeless and those from broken families through programs and services which promote a sense of belonging and purpose. By creating a strong support network and family environment, we aim to facilitate personal restoration and empower people to achieve lasting change that will improve their well-being and enable them to make a positive contribution in their world.

Principles and Purpose

Our core values are based on the principles of family and respect. That’s why every individual who comes in is welcomed as a part of the family. Appreciating and valuing each other promotes self-worth and enables those experiencing brokenness and despair to achieve personal healing and restoration. Honesty and forgiveness are also principles that go hand in hand with being part of a family.

We also believe that: 

• Homelessness is a community responsibility and everyone has the right to secure accommodation.
• All people are created equally and have the right to have their needs met on a physical, spiritual and emotional level.
• Everyone deserves a second chance and everyone deserves to be treated with respect and dignity.
• Education and positive mentoring empowers people to become responsible for themselves and motivates them to change their situation or lifestyle.
• Non-judgmental and nurturing environments promote positive growth and facilitate restoration of the whole person.
