Shining Light, in association with House of Restoration, aims to provide educational resources to schools within Fiji and other Pacific nations. Our desire is to see young people in the Pacific Islands have a quality education, build their confidence and to become young men and women of integrity who will lead the next generation with honesty and wisdom.

Projects
After making initial contact with a school or community and assessing their needs, the first task is to collect the required resources and equipment. This may include library books, sporting equipment, tools and hardware, electrical appliances, stationery and other resources. These are then packed into a shipping container and sent to the destination. A team from Shining Light will then fly to that destination to accompany the container to the school or community. The team will take part in unloading, distributing and setting up the equipment as well as running seminars to teach the students how to use or operate their new resources. Sometimes team members will be invited to give a speech or presentation to the whole school, which gives us the opportunity to share a positive and encouraging message to inspire the young people to reach their full potential.
Getting involved in the life of the school and spending time with the students and teachers is very important. It gives us the opportunity to establish relationships with the people and also to share their struggles, pain, joy and lifestyle. This enables us to get to know personally the people we are seeking to assist.
In Australia and other developed nations we throw away so many things that could benefit the education and lives of people in Pacific nations.
