House of Restoration has been officially involved in Street Ministry since 2002. Street Ministry aims to make contact with people in Melbourne who are disadvantaged, stigmatised or struggling with various addictions. 
Volunteers walk in pairs throughout specific areas of the city looking to establish relationships with those they meet. Depending on their needs, they may be provided with live-in accommodation for a period of time at House of Restoration. During this period, lead tenants and fellow tenants will live with and provide support to assist these people with any needs they have.
Prior to street ministry, volunteers meet at a house where they have the opportunity to get to know one another and discuss any experiences or concerns from the previous week. There is also opportunity to ask questions and in this way we aim to provide support to our volunteers.
We encourage our volunteers to spend time developing relationships with the people they meet. During this time, volunteers will look to encourage, comfort, affirm and care for the person they have built a relationship with, while looking for ways to support them.

- Everyone deserves respect regardless of current circumstances, what they have done, or where they come from.
- We should not turn away from anyone in our community.
- We should be non-judgmental towards everybody.
