The pressure to become something great in life is stronger than ever. People want to know what your qualifications are, what kind of house you live in, what kind of car you drive, even who are associated with, but these things are not of any value when the greatest achievement in life is yet to be discovered. After 20 years of life experience, I was yet to experience life with God. I had heard and believed yet I was sinking into a world I had created around myself that had become a wall to my destiny. The voice of God was washed away in a sea of alcohol, drugs, sexual immorality and a constant desire to fit in and be accepted by those I considered my friends. My face could lie with a smile, my mouth could speak confidence to cover fear but I couldn’t lie to myself; I was hurt and lost. In a moment I let go of it all. Why? There is only one path worth walking that’s because I know where it’s going. “…broad is the path that leads to destruction but narrow is the path that leads to life.” (Matthew 7:13-14). Success doesn’t come from how you choose to lead to your life, but whom you choose to lead it. It’s not always going to be easy but I’m choosing to follow God. |
