Myself and others were invited for a weekend by a group from Crossway to attend a retreat in Cathedral. When we got there we unpacked and put up our tents, that night we all sat outside around the warm fire talking about ministries and the LOMAR Retreat.
I personally think that the LOMAR Retreat is a real get-a-way, with great scenery and so much to do. The ministry (LOMAR Retreat) is a great idea and I believe it will succeed and help a lot out there indeed.
In the short period of time, I did a lot like:
• Playing pass Frisbee
• Forty-forty home
• Walking to the creek
• Piling rocks
• Digging roots
• Not forgetting my favourite…picking up cow manure
Being there was an inspiration and just gave me a lot of time with God and seeing his creation just made me realise a lot. I wouldn’t mind going up to help again and to get away from the city. |
