Well I have had a very busy eight months. I started a traineeship through Huston Health doing personal service assistance, where I go to different hospitals doing a variety of things (ie taking patients to x-rays, cleaning rooms, assisting the patients and nurses and working in food services at the hospitals).
While doing this kind of work I started to get a massive passion for serving, helping, understanding people’s needs and advantages and disadvantages. After all of that work, I started getting dreams where I would be going around to unknown places to help out people and encourage them. I realised that there is a lot to live for, a lot of things to be achieved, also to build relationships with the community and when the whole community is working together, everything else falls into place.
I thought that this was a great idea, but where do I start? Well I was thinking of going to East Timor, Middle East or overseas. I think it would be cool to travel. Then I stopped and a thought came into my head… “have you forgotten where you come from…there are people like that all around Australia…you have to start at home before going to help out at other places”. So now after all of that I have a mission called “MISSION OUTBACK”.
Mission Outback is going to be doing a variety of things because all different parts of Australia have different issues. We are going to help out in school activities, confidence building, relationship building and finding out each other’s talents and how to make them grow into being something they thought they could never be. It’s a bit like an apple seed…and it grows into a great big tree with thousands of apples and it blooms just like us. We have a little seed inside of us and all we need is a little water, sun and love and we grow.
I hope you all understand what I am saying…if you don’t understand, just have a look at a chair or table…these things use to be a tree. A small seed produces lots and lots of wonderful apples. |
