Shining Light’s next destination is Mt Hagen, Papua New Guinea! HR has taken steps to establish a base in PNG with a vision to bring restoration to family life and to help transform communities for the better. Shining Light has got on board with this vision and has begun the process of collecting resources to send to PNG with our focus being on schools and “settlement” areas. These are areas where people live illegally by tapping into public resources and squatting on land without paying rent or rates.
Over the past 6 months Shining Light has been collecting many resources including woodworking benches, clothing, library books and many other school resources. All the resources that have been collected are being sorted and packed at House of Restoration’s warehouse in Braybrook.
Currently Shining Light is raising funds to send a 20ft container to PNG, the cost of sending a container to PNG is approximately $5000. We would appreciate any assistance you would be able to provide in funding the container to PNG.
The resources that Shining Light is sending to PNG will be distributed through House of Restoration’s PNG office. This will enable the local leaders at the HR base to assess the needs of the area and distribute the resources according to the needs of the community and the schools.
We would like to thank everyone who has contributed to Shining Light in any way.
