 In the past 4 months, Shining Light has been busy collecting resources to send to Tailevu North College in Fiji. We have received donations of library books, class set text books, computers, stationery, home economics equipment, furniture, printers, photocopiers and clothing.
A team of people have been working on the donated computers to upgrade the software and hardware in preparation for use by the students. We are currently packing the materials to send to Fiji and aiming to send the container over in early March. A team of people will be travelling to Fiji to assist with the unpacking of resources and assisting the teachers and students in using the equipment. We are also aiming to involve the families of the students in this process. We have collected not only resources for Tailevu North College (which has students ranging from 11 to 21 years of age) but also resources for primary schools. While in Fiji, we will be looking at other schools to see what assistance we can provide. Shining Light would like to thank people for their encouragement, support and donations for this project. |
